||How do you lose somebody?||

There are times when you would want to reach out but an unknown barrier prevents you from doing so.

Those were the days when you were really close.Secrets could be safely spilled and kept at the drop of a hat.

Yet,somewhere;somehow you both diverged.

You can never really pinpoint when it happened and never can you do so.It just doesn't happen that one fine morning you simply wake up and find that the other person has moved on.
No,it just doesn't happen.

Everything comes in steps. From being Strangers, to Acquaintances and to again Strangers-everything comes in a full cycle.

Did you ever read a book which left you with more Questions than Answers?

That's what happens here too. There are some questions which just can never be answered perfectly-one can just speculate. It's this speculation that keeps us going.
Just like you put some word in a forgotten corner of your memory, some of your belongings in the corner of your attic-In the same way that person is "lost",though somehow you're no longer your previous self.

A part of you has forever changed and you've lost that part.
That very loss will be your gain.

The Time that'll matter..

It'll be a lonely night.
One where you would be wide awake at 3:00 a.m.,still musing over the fact that what could've and what couldn't have been.
You'll feel like crying your heart out-to the person who mattered the most. But,all is lost.
Distances have grown us apart. We are so close, yet so far.Earlier the name which used sound like a thousand melodies in your mind;now sounds like a dull note. The contact which remained pinned on your Chatbox, lies relegated somewhere.Every song, every call you made, every quote you shared-shears you apart. You break into a volley of tears. The vow you made to yourself, never to get emotional again;is thus sadly broken.
You'll again try to pick up the broken pieces but you'll find,in the midst of all this you've certainly lost a part;or two.
You'll realize that there's nothing much you can do.Moving on is just a phase of life.Maybe you two weren't fated to be together.Maybe you two would eventually break apart. So would people say.
But,memories of that first meet would still haunt you.Yes,she was Simple, and that simplicity stole your heart.Little would you know that she had other plans, where you didn't feature.
Yes,Moving On is tough my friend. It hurts to let someone go,especially when you haven't even confessed the thousand thoughts which are there in your heart.
But trust me,that pain shall too pass. It'll be the 'Time' that'll matter. If you loved her truly, let her go,you'll realise the true depth of your love for her..

When I have fears...

"When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,"

John Keats has spelled wonder in this 14 line poem like no other poet could do.
Fear is an important part of our lives, and more often than not;it's our fears which sometimes bring out the  best in us.But,it's also true that our very fears sometimes incapacitate us in the worst possible way.

Everyone has his/her own share of fears-death,losing someone whom you love, becoming poor and fear of getting rejected are all but true.

I like all mortals,am morbidly feaful from my fears, that I shall fail,or rather get rejected before I start. That I shall be doomed from day one.And none could summarize it far better than Keats himself:

"When I behold, upon the night's starr'd face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think that I may never live to trace
Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance;"

I'm quite fearful of the fact that thousand words of mine shall remain trapped with me,thousands of letters unwritten and thousands of regrets dying within me everyday.

But,we all do grow up,don't we?and somewhere a hope still remains within us,that inspite of our fears of being doomed, there might be a slim chance that we might struck gold after all.

I really don't know whether my ideas shall ever be met with concrete actions or whether the long unsaid words would finally escape my lips, but as I said-we all need to take the plunge.

Thanks for patiently reading the midnight babblings of a person, who's too tired to face life..

Winter is here

And thus December has rolled in..
Winter's here..
Winter conjures up different emotions in different people. While some see winter as an enjoyable affair(with picnics and fairs;with the mesmerizing taste of oranges)others, including poets take a less sombre view..
Poets have a habit of perceiving things minutely and attaching a significant amount of personification to it.Thus, winter is personified to something withering away,to the cold sweep of the frost which'll disrupt life wherever be it's path.
But,I would differ a bit from that.My take on Winter would be inspired from T.S.Eliot's "The Waste Land", where he writes:
"Winter kept us warm,
Covering the earth in forgetful snow"
Thus,a particular warmth winter has. This warmth is the warmth of forgetfulness, the warmth even associated with coldness, this warmth comes bundled with the joy of the season..

Seasons greetings to all!
Peace!

Solitude....

There are times in your life when you would be sleepy at 11:59 PM,yet a thousand thoughts will cloud your brain and force you to rethink your life in radical terms.
These are the moments you wish you could literally thrash, scream, punch those insignificant people who've held up your life and have made it miserably miserably. Those people from whom you expect a lot, have had a thousand dreams but now you watch them drift apart..Slowly..
And you realise that it had happened earlier also..And will happen again..
---------------------------------------------------------------
The silence of the night, pierced by the occasional chirping of birds, the devotional kirtan somewhere and the lone motorist on the ever lonely roads..And there you'll lie, thinking;turning and tossing in your bed about what could've been and what had turned out actually..You curse your luck, you curse the person..But,deep down you realise that nothing's gonna probably change..You'll behave foolishly once again, and once again you'll have this "slipping away" feeling..And this cycle would repeat itself..You'll be bruised, scathed, scarred; yet you'll yearn..
And in the end,it'll just be a lonely night..With just you and the calm, cold night spreading her arms around you and giving the best embrace.
It'll be just you and your solitude.

New Posts on the way.....

Again there has been a lull in my blogging efforts due to the Durga Puja vacations, preceded by the Mid Semester Examinations @ my institute..Normally I try to blog more during my free time, but this year the vacation was short and I had little amount of time to concentrate on my new blog posts..
But finally,I've got the impetus to pen down(or rather, type down) something for my blog..
